Sometimes a hardware wallet or seed phrase becomes compromised. It happens! With an Unchained vault, your bitcoin is not at immediate risk of loss, but a compromised key means you should replace it with a secure key for all the vaults where the compromised key was used. This also means moving bitcoin from the old compromised wallet into the new, secure wallet.
The Unchained key replacement process has been significantly enhanced to provide more context and information about the costs associated with moving bitcoin into new wallets with keys that are still secure. The new workflow:
Educates users about when to replace a key and when to perform another workflow
Provides more context about which vaults are impacted and what will happen with the rekey process
Displays the number of UTXOs and estimated cost of rekeying all of the vaults before moving to a point of no return
